North Sails Solo Class Boatspeed Workshop
We are very proud to have Tom Gillard from North Sails hosting a Solo Class Boatspeed Workshop at the Club.
Tom Gillard is widely regarded as one of the most versatile and successful dinghy sailors in the United Kingdom. As of 2024, he has amassed an incredible 37 major championships across ten different sailing classes.
OPEN TO NON-MEMBERS
He has been a dominant force. His success in the Solo fleet is particularly notable because he is physically lighter than the ideal weight for the boat, often requiring him to use technical finesse and superior rig tuning to compete against heavier sailors in high winds.
In his "near-perfect" 2022 season, he swept the Solo Nationals, the Nations Cup in Carnac, and the Inland Championships.
This will be an incredible coaching day and one not to miss. Book your place today.
TIMETABLE
- Our plan is to be on site for bacon rolls 8:45 rigged and ready to start an on-shore rig tuning session in the dinghy Park 9:30am
- Launching 11:30am for on the water session
- We will be planning to come in for lunch at 2:30pm for lunch and a classroom debrief with video footage. Wrapping up at 3:30pm
- De-rigging and questions 3:30-4pm and hopefully some social chats in the bar after
LUNCH
The club galley will be open for Bacon Rolls, Tea & Coffee on arrival, please arrive early to eat before coaching begins.
Lunch will be available through the Galley.
