Late Summer 3-Day Training
We provide courses for children aged 7 to 16 years and adults, covering complete beginners to very experienced sailors. The courses are open to children of club members, and also to non-club members. Our junior training is in accordance with the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme and will be in Optimist, Pico, Cadet or Laser dinghies (depending on age / size of sailor). There are usually at least three optimist groups (beginners, intermediate and racing) and at least one Pico or Laser group. The courses cover the junior RYA Stages 1-4 and Start Racing. We also offer adult training to the RYA core syllabus for level 1 and level 2.
Our main aim is to have fun safely. All participants must be able to swim and be confident around others in the water. If there is severe weather we reserve the right to cancel, although this is very unlikely.
The costs are per child for the three days.Members £75
Non - members £100 (£25 of which is deductible from membership if you subsequently join within 3 months).
Please note: It is a course requirement that someone with parental responsibility is at the club all the time that the children are on the course. This is to ensure that all children are happy, fed and warm throughout the day and that we fulfil our child protection responsibilities.
