We are thrilled to announce the dates for our Junior Training Programme! Whether your young sailor is looking to get on the water for the first time or sharpen their racing skills, we have a fantastic lineup planned for this year.

We cant wait to see junior sailors back out on the water learning. If you have any questions regarding which level is right for your child, please just hit reply.

Easter Junior Beginner Sailing - RYA Stage 1 & 2

The beginner training is aimed at members of Barnt Green Sailing club and is also provided for non-member children.  

The course is aimed at children between 8 and 16 years of age and follows the RYA Stage 1 & 2 syllabus in sailing.  

We have a fleet of junior sailing boats and RYA qualified instructors.  We offer a family friendly environment for the training.

OPEN TO NON-MEMBERS AND MEMBERS

The Improver Sailing course Stage 2 or Stage 3 RYA certificate

The Improver Sailing course is aimed at children between 8yrs and 16yrs looking to gain their Stage 2 or Stage 3 RYA certificate in sailing.  

These courses take children from the basic sailing covered by Stage 1 and introduce improved skills to allow them to sail a course and control the boat in different conditions. Our RYA qualified training team will support the development of these skills using our fleet of junior training boats at our family friendly club.

Easter Junior Advanced RYA Training (Stage 4 and advanced modules)

The advanced RYA Training offers Stage 4 and advanced modules to suit the youngsters on the course.  

This could include Seamanship, Start Racing, Sailing with Spinnakers etc. The training follows the RYA Syllabus and is delivered by our team of RYA qualified instructors. The RYA advanced modules build on the knowledge and experience learned through the previous stages and focusses on refining skills to improve boat handling and racing skills.

We have a fleet of junior sailing boats and RYA qualified instructors.  We offer a family friendly environment for the training.

OPEN TO NON-MEMBERS AND MEMBERS

Dates:

Powerboat Level 2

This course provides the skills and background knowledge needed by the competent powerboat driver and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence

  • Minimum age - 12 Year Olds +

It aims to teach boat handling and seamanship in powerboats. It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations. The course can be taken at an inland or coastal location. It may be conducted in a variety of boat types, both planing and displacement. The certificate issued will be endorsed to show the type of boat in which the training took place.
