Water levels at Upper Bittell

With the planned maintenance work on the reservoir delayed until late 2017, water levels are steadily improving once again at Barnt Green. Following the recent heavy rain, the water level has begun to rise promising good sailing conditions for the 2016 Frostbite and Snowflake Series.

Thanks are due to club members Stuart, Gordon, Chris and Robin, and Barnt Green Waters, for all their efforts and time spent at meetings with the Canal and Rivers Trust, and indeed with our local MP Sajid Javed, to find an acceptable way forward for the Club.

It does look likely that we will lose the next winter season (2017-18), however the aim is to ensure that the work is completed for the start of the 2018 season, Barnt Green Sailing Club's centenary year. More information to follow as soon as we have it.
