Mud Warning
Published 10:30 on 21 Jan 2018

Visitors and club members need to be aware of the danger of walking round the reservoir whilst it is empty.
Since the draining of Upper Bittell several incidents have occurred in which people have attempted to walk round the reservoir. Some of these, myself included, have ventured too close to the silt areas and have had to to rescued. The silt is very deep and acts like quicksand making it very difficult to extract oneself.
Please reiterate the danger to members especially as half-term breaks are imminent & club working parties have started.
