Congratulations to the winners at the 2026 Arden Estates Flag Officer's Family Regatta.

The Arden Estates Flag Officers' Family Regatta was a deeply special occasion as we presented a brand-new award. The Oli Bahlmann Junior Trophy.

Oli was a keen sailor, but above all, he was a force of nature. He was forever climbing, running about, laughing, and causing just the right amount of mischief. He lived life with the kind of boundless energy and adventurous spirit that defines the very best of our youth sailors. Sadly 10 years ago Oli, who was just eight years old, was lost to a sudden and unexpected illness.

This September, to honor his memory on the ten-year anniversary, his family will be tackling the challenges of Mount Kilimanjaro on an 8-day expedition.

They are undertaking this massive climb to raise money for Birmingham Childrens Hospital. The hospital looked after Oli and his family with immense care in his final days and is a truly worthy cause. Please do consider sponsoring their endeavour here: https://www.justgiving.com/pag...

This new Junior Trophy ensures that Olis bright, adventurous spirit lives on right here on the water at Barnt Green Sailing Club. It is awarded to the winner of the Junior Prize at the Flag Officers Family regatta where we see young sailors competing who embody those very qualities Oli had in abundance: passion, resilience, a love for adventure, and a vibrant joy for life.
