Event Information
In addition to prizes for the overall event winner, we have "Rising Star" prizes for sailors who have not previously been members of an RYA or IOCA training squad (aka Regatta fleet). We look forward to welcoming some new faces!
There will be 4 races with two in the morning back to back, ashore for lunch and then two races in the afternoon. The competitor briefing will be at 10.30am with the first race at 11am.
Barnt Green Sailing Club will be running this event in line with RYA and Government Covid 19 guidelines. Please enter online before the event as entries on the day will not be accepted. Entry is restricted to 30 sailors initially.
Camping
Campervan parking is available overnight before the event - please contact Bob Suggitt, commodore of BGSC to book in advance on 07964 853685 or rj.suggitt@gmail.com.
Coaching
There will be an official coach who will provide encouragement and support to the back few sailors in the regatta fleet during the races. In addition the conditions and abilities of the sailors will be reviewed on the day and we may offer the opportunity for regatta fleet sailors to participate in some coaching exercises to warm up, joining the racing later in the day.
Catering
Bacon baps will be available during registration and lunch will also be available for sailors and families. To help us plan numbers, please indicate on the form if you would like lunch. Please remember a face mask must be worn inside the clubhouse.
Hire Boats
There are a limited number of club optimist boats available to hire. If you wish to use a club boat, please select that option when booking and entering and on the entry form enter zero as your sail number.
Organising Authority
The Organising Authority for this event is Barnt Green Sailing Club ("BGSC"). IOCA Midlands will act as an agent of BGSC in administering entries and managing data (through this web page) and collecting entry fees through online banking (which will be passed on to BGSC).
