Indoor Picnic and Walk around the Water

Just because we can't sail on Upper Bittell for the time being, doesn't mean that we can't have "on shore" fun at the club. So we are taking advantage of the low water by organising an indoor picnic and "walk around the water".

We will be opening the club bar from 1pm on Sunday 26th November and we would like to invite all club members and their families to bring along a picnic and join us. Although we would like you to bring along your own favourite picnic foods, members of the sailing club committee have also "volunteered" to provide cakes - some of which they will be making themselves "Bake Off"-style !

To help burn off some of the excess calories, we will also be offering members the opportunity to walk round the reservoir with us. The walk will take place on an average lap basis rather than a pursuit and the first gun will go shortly after 1pm. We anticipate a lap will take between 45 minutes and an hour depending on the prevailing conditions.The start line will be between the clubhouse and the clubhouse lawn.

Obviously, we cannot guarantee the weather so you are advised to bring suitable clothing and wellies as some of the foreshore is still a bit boggy in places.

The club AGM will follow at 3pm, where will be revealing some of the events we have planned for our centenary next year and of course, awarding prizes for club racing during the 2017 season. We will also be unveiling our new Commodore too.
