Laser 4.7 Race Training

An opportunity to jump start the sailing season for our teenage sailors, our Easter junior training this year is going to be some high energy race training for Laser 4.7s only. We will be joining with Bartley Sailing Club for this training. The training is open to children of club members, and also to non-club members. The training will not follow a particular RYA course syllabus but will be run by an RYA qualified coach and where elements of the RYA junior racing awards are covered these can be signed off in log books.

Our main aim is to have fun safely. All participants must be able to swim and be confident around others in the water. Trainees should have their own Laser 4.7 dinghy and already hold RYA Youth Scheme Stage 3/4 (or equivalent sailing ability.

Cost per trainee for three days are:
£75 - Members of Bartley or Barnt Green Sailing Clubs
£95 - Non-members / visitors from other clubs

It is a course requirement that someone with parental responsibility is at the club all the time that the children are on the course. This is to ensure that all children are happy, fed and warm throughout the day and that we fulfil our child protection responsibilities.

If there is severe weather we reserve the right to cancel, although this is very unlikely.

Due to the popularity of these courses it is advisable to book early.
