Barnt Green Sailing Club - Gallery 017

We are holding an RS200 EVENT.   The following from our Vice Commodore:- "I have arranged and confirmed with Andrew Weedon of Purple Marine for a demo of the RS200 to take place on Sunday 18th May. Our plan is that he arrives at about 11.00am and sets the boat up ready for participants to have a go from 12.00 onwards. I have also suggested that Andrew and a member, or two club members, take part in the first race of the afternoon, if there are any takers - if only to give the Suggitt family a run for their money !"  Members, make a note of this date, we really hope as many of you as possible will turn up for this important milestone.  RS200 EVENT POSTER HERE

First sighting of an RS200 at B.G.S.C. on 13th April 2008.

13/4/08.  Charlotte Savage helped by boyfriend crew, Matt, brought her new RS200 to the club for assembly and, hopefully, a trial sail.  Web Admin. managed to get these photo's with his phone cam but as is so often the case, had to leave before the launching.  He hopes someone took some pictures of the first voyage!  Please send them if so to EMAIL LINK.

The boat looked superb and let us hope it will be first of several at our club as the fledgling fleet becomes established.  Charlotte and Matt will, unfortunately for us, be sailing the boat in the class open meeting circuit and it will be based in Bristol where both of them are studying.

18/5/08. Rob Lennox and daughter Hannah, with yours truly on the sailboard.

The chute's setting OK but what's up with the main? Are those battens troublesome?

Rob again with daughter Charli crewing this time. Everything looking good now.

Our RS200 trail day went well, however, all the pictures Sam Woods took were of the Lennox's sailing it during the morning.  Other members sailed too and we hope to put up a small report soon.  Thanks go to Gordon Padmore for organising the event and to Andrew Weedon for bringing the boat along for the day.

Keep emailing your RS200 pics. to    EMAIL LINK   Thank you.
