A second gallery of photographs showing the lake at various levels

On the 16th March 2008, the day our "summer" race series started, the lake is as full as it can possibly get with several inches of water literally gushing over the sluice into the spilway, see below.

This fascinating picture shows the lake lowered for repairs in 1934.  It is interesting to note the contours of the ground we sail over.  The old pump house with its chimney gives a very different skyline from today and further to the right can be seen the spillway with its white depth marker posts just visible. Judging by the height of the Keepers house, say 8 metres,  I would estimate that the lake is at least twelve metres down.  Then comes the Keepers cottage with the committee room to the fore, then the open store, now a bird watchers shelter.  Next is a gap that is now filled by our changing rooms and then the old boathouse which of course is now our lovely clubhouse.  To the right of that can be seen the neighbouring Tower House which is currently (Oct. 2006) up for sale.   None of our other foreshore buildings are built at this stage and there is just one cow shed further along on the extreme right. Note, Tower House bought during 2007 and is being renovated by the new owners.

A resue of a Cadet taken in 1960 when the lake was very low, more information when available.
