The "Top Three" results from each fleet as submitted to local newspapers by Gordon Padmore weekly, the most recent at the top.

2010 Snowflake Series.

Seniors result update, by Rob Lennox after checking "scoring" in the Racing Rules of Sailing.  quote :-

"On Sunday, I thought it was an unbreakable tie too, but then I realised that Bob had a 2nd equal as one of his 8 relevant results for our tiebreak sailing instruction. The Racing Rules of Sailing are quite clear that 2nd equal scores = 2.5 points (see Rule A7). Therefore, when you list the results in order of best to worst,  you break the tie in my favour (my 2 is better than his 2.5).        It couldn't be closer!"     unquote.

So, there we have it.  Or, do we?  Bob, do you agree with this?  Certainly, the closest score a series could possibly achieve.  Perhaps Gordon should have gone to five decimal places !
By my reckoning (RB) there seems to be a tie at the top in the seniors fleet, between  Rob Lennox  and  Bob Suggitt  with four firsts each and four seconds each when they both met meaning a tie that cannot be broken by our tie break system, or, do you (Rob or Bob or Keith as Sailing Sec./Results) know better?  I can't tell who is third without seeing the full results sheets. (Red names are links)

The junior winner appears to be William Lockett but without the full results sheets, I can't be certain.  The definitive results will be posted here as soon as they are available.

Sunday Snowflake Series 21.02.10:     Here we go again!  Another race day lost due to snow and ice.  Only two more races to go, weather permitting of course.  The only thing I can add about Sunday is the following quote from the Commodore, who did at least turn up.  "Surprise, surprise – ice stopped play. The Commodore was keen to lead from the front but as it wasn’t his boat, he felt it better not to risk it. Needless to say, there was only one other enthusiast keen to sail and in retrospect, I have only just realised there wasn’t any rescue! "
