Quoted from Clare's email to Midlands C.A. "If I can do it then I am sure that all the youngsters booked onto the Fishy Facts and Water Worlds Day on Tuesday 11 August will be able to as well!

In preparation for The Countryside Alliance Foundation Fishy Facts and Water Worlds Day I thought I'd better get up to speed with a little bit more Coarse Fishing practice with the help of Dr John Tate.  Thanks to his expert tuition I managed to catch three large (well I thought they were big!) carp in less than an hour - it was very exciting!

The Fishy Facts and Water Worlds Day will take place at Upper Bittel Reservoir, Cofton Hackett, near Birmingham by kind permission of the Barnt Green Fishing Club.  The day will be a fun packed event with four groups of five children having ago at Coarse Fishing, Fly Casting, Fly Tying, Pond Dipping, Falconry, Ferreting and exploring flora and fauna on a nature walk.

Without much advertising the places have booked very quickly so if you are aged between 8 and 15 and would like to join in the fun then please contact: Sally Loud, The Countryside Alliance Foundation on 07545 913 002 or email: sallyloud@dsl.pipex.com

Pre booking only will secure a place, you cannot just turn up on the day.  A £10.00 donation will be required to put towards the cost of the equipment used please."

The Countryside Alliance Foundation would like to take this opportunity to thank Richard Taylor from

Leeda, the UK's largest fishing tackle distributor, for the kind and generous donation towards the educational packs.
