Posted 24th April 2010, from "the Commodore".

The first two Friday Night Youth Sailing evenings have taken place and proved to be a great success. In fact, for those who have attended, it has left them all with quite a buzz and wanting more. Both evenings have commenced with Team football in boats, whilst waiting for others to get on the water, and last evening saw a St George’s Day handicap race which was won by Tom Fenemore.

When the boats are put away which is anticipated to be by 8.30pm, the initial evening ended with a barbeque and for those who were wondering what they should do whilst the young members are out on the water, the bar is open to unwind at the end of the week. We hope to have a table tennis table at the Club for the next Friday evening on Friday May 7th starting at 6.30pm., so perhaps this could become your forte.

Joe Taylor has asked for junior members to e-mail him on joedebcarl@aol.com to enable him to develop a Junior database and through this, keep all the young people informed as to what is going on and what is planned on these evenings. Even a reminder of the evening could be sent out.

Parents – please encourage your family members to take part and develop the facility – after all, it is another benefit of being a member of Barnt Green Sailing Club.
