Conditions of Entry
1. Each boat is entirely responsible for its own safety, whether afloat or ashore, and nothing, whether in the Notice of Race or sailing instructions or anywhere else reduces this responsibility.
2. It is for the Boat to decide whether it is fit to sail in the conditions in which it will find itself. By launching the Boat confirms that it is fit for those conditions and that its Crew is competent to sail and compete in them. The Boat is required to hold adequate insurance and in particular to hold insurance against third party claims in the sum of at least £2,000,000.
3. Nothing done by Barnt Green Sailing Club can reduce the responsibility of the Boat nor will it make the Club as organisers responsible for any loss, damage, death, or personal injury however it may have occurred, as a result of a Boat taking part in the racing. The Organisers encompasses everyone helping to run the race and the event, and include the organising authority, the Race Committee, the Race Officer, Rescue Boats and Beach Masters.
4. The provision of rescue boats does not relieve the Boat of its responsibilities.
5. Members of the Club, their guests and visitors use the Club premises and any other facilities of the Club entirely at their own risk and impliedly accept that
A. The Club will not accept any liability for any damage to or loss of property belonging to members, their guests or visitors to the club and:
B. The Club will not accept any liability for personal injury arising out of the use of the Club premises, and any other facilities of the Club, or out of participation in any races organised by the Club, whether sustained by members, their guests, or visitors, whether or not such damage or injury could have been attributed to or was occasioned by neglect, default, or negligence of any of the Officers, Committee or servants of the Club.
6. Valid and current Boat insurance must be held which covers the Boat for third party cover of at least £2,000,000 underwritten by an A.B.I, Member Company or Lloyds of London whilst racing.
7. The Club has a strict policy with regard to the safety of Children at the Club and reminds parents that the safety of children is the responsibility of the parent or guardian bringing them to the Club. Thus the responsible adult should not leave the Club whilst their child is on Club premises.
8. Competitors are expected to be capable of self rescue. The Organisers are only able to provide normal rescue facilities during racing and, in the event of adverse conditions, parents and Guardians must decide whether their Child is sufficiently competent and must ensure that their Craft is seaworthy and has adequate safety equipment.
